Our promises... |
To support......producer partners' efforts towards economic independence and control over their environment and to challenge the power structures that undermine their rights to a livlihood. People Tree has supported the development and growth of organic farming at Agrocel. Every year Agrocel is able to include more organic farmers in their group thanks to growing People Tree orders for organic cotton. People Tree also helps us with the improvement of our cotton. - Hashmukh Patel, Agrocel Cooperative, India. To protect......the environment and use natural resources sustainably throughout our trading and to promote environmentally responsible lifestyles and environmental initiatives to create new models to promote sustainability. We only use dyes that are free from harmful chemicals and work alongside our producers to ensure that the dying process has a minimum impact on the environment and that all bleaches are chlorine free. To supply......customers with good quality products, with friendly and efficient service and build awareness to empower consumers and producers to participate in Fair Trade and environmentally sustainable solutions. I love People Tree. I often get compliments on my People Tree clothes, and try to pass on the message, website and catalogues. I love knowing where my clothes have been made and how People Tree supports the families and communities involved. - People Tree customer To provide......a supportive environment to all stakeholders and promote dialogue and understanding between them. People Tree regularly reviews the impact of our Fair Trade work by speaking to all of our stakeholders to ensure we continue to meet and improve our objectives. To set an example......to other businesses and the government of a Fair Trade model of business based on partnership, people-centred values and sustainability. I'm delighted to be supporting the People Tree Foundation and People Tree as they lead the way in demonstrating how Fair Trade is so successful in enriching local communities. Fashion can be stylish, Fair Trade and also care about environmental issues. Think twice, be nice, Fair Trade. - Jo Wood, Founder and Creative Director, Jo Wood Organics |
